Babymoon Things to plan

Hi Friends, if you can recollect we had already finalized our destination and accommodation for our babymoon. In this section I'll talk about a few points that you need to keep in mind while planning for a babymoon.

1.   Consult your doctor and let her/him know about your plans well in advance. Unless it’s a high risk pregnancy, your doctor will usually let you go.

2.   Plan it for the second trimester. This is the trimester when most pregnant women feel quite well and have better energy. The first trimester is the most difficult time and we need to take extra care at that time.
Most of the first trimester symptoms like nausea, morning sickness, food aversion, breast soreness, fatigue, etc. are gone in the second trimester. Usually, this is the best and happiest time among the three trimesters. In the third trimester, the belly pops out too much and also brings with it back pain, leg cramps, indigestion. Besides, there are restrictions on travel during this trimester.

      3.  Avoid altitude. The lack of oxygen at high altitudes will lead to breathlessness and a lot of discomfort.

      4. Plan for a place which doesn't have extreme weather conditions. Beach holidays are favorites.

     5.   Babymoons should not involve much activity. So choose a place where you can relax. Now, the idea of relaxation can vary from person to person. So you can choose a high end luxury place or a nice, quiet and pocket friendly place. Remember, putting extra pressure on your purse can sometimes increase stress ;). Whatever you choose, always make sure to check the hygiene; it’s very very important.

      6.  Always check whether a hospital or health service is available nearby..

      7.  Carry all your medical reports during the journey.

        8.  It is preferable to travel by air. You may travel by road or train only if the journey is a short one, but always check whether the road conditions are good. Bumpy roads and crowded trains should be avoided.

       9.  Check with the airlines about their pregnancy policy. Generally most airlines allow travel up to the 27th  week without any restrictions. However it is wise to carry a fit-to-fly certificate from your doctor, just in case. I was travelling during my 25th week, and I kept a certificate from my doctor with me.

       10.  Keep your luggage as light as possible. You should not carry much weight and neither would you want  your better half to turn into your porter or a He-Man. I know it’s the most difficult part for us girls. So in one of my later posts I will give you suggestions on how to smartly pack your items without going overboard.

      11. Carry all medications and supplements that your doctor has prescribed.

      12. If you have back pain like me, it’s good to carry a hot or cold pack as per your requirements. I had  carried a pack from 3M which could serve as both hot and cold pack.

I think I have given enough gyan on this subject. If you have any more suggestions, feel free to post them in the comments section. Will come up with my next post soon, till then, goodbye ladies, have nice day and sleep a lot toooooo….
