Babymoon 5th Day in Palolem Goa Playing with colors

Morning greeted us with heavy rain. We lay in bed, listening to the pitter patter and taking in the sweet smell of wet earth; oblivious to the fact that our morning would be wasted if the rain didn't stop.

We had earlier planned to go for a ride into the sea to watch dolphins. However, my Mom-in-law had alerted us that it being Amavasya (New moon night), the sea would be rough and have high waves. We decided to postpone our trip.

Braving the rain we went to the Beach Cafe for breakfast. There we could see the sea in all its roughness. It was dull and gray; and the waves were very high and came crashing down, almost reaching up to the stairs of the Beach Resort. The beach was completely submerged, and it was a very different picture from the picturesque Palolem beach that we had seen only the previous day. Indeed my Mom-in-law had been right; it was not a day for our dolphin ride.

Babubhai, who would be taking us for the ride, was also of the same opinion. Not only would it be foolish to risk a ride in this weather but also the dolphins would be difficult to spot in the turbulent sea. So we re-planned with him for the next day.

Post breakfast we were idling away, sitting on the porch, enjoying the sight of the surrounding greenery bathed in rain. Suddenly the rain stopped and sun shone out brightly. Everything around us seemed transformed. The many hues of green that can be seen only after a spell of fresh rain, basking in the golden sunlight; it looked straight out of a postcard. I had heard that monsoon brings out a different beauty to Goa, now I was experiencing it. It cannot be explained unless you see it for yourself.

The foodie in me felt relieved that I could now go to Magic Italia for pizza. I had been craving for it. I quickly dressed myself up (pics below) and rushed off before the skies decided to open up again J.

Here’s Anu…

The lady at Magic Italy explained to us the different types of salamis which she uses in her pizzas, all imported from Italy. We ordered a pizza with Speck and Aubergines . It was great. The good part was that it was not a cheesy affair but all the ingredients had been used in such a way that it enhanced our senses, instead of overpowering them. This restaurant is also highly recommended by me.
